This gun belonged to my son when he was managing a ranch with 450 head of cattle ----later 800 head of yearlings by himself. He bought this rifle to vaccinate some of the critters that weren't cooperative. He used it around 25 times successfully and saved himself a lot of time and trouble. The shots averaged around 25 yds. This is not an air rifle but is powered by a 22 cal. blank. All of the medicine, and accessories can probably be found at the local ranch supply stores.
I will post pics of the current Western Ranch Supply catalog explaining more than I can. there are also U-Tube videos explaining the use of the rifle. It is mine to sell or trade for whatever, and I am asking $375.00 shipped for it.

Can tranquilizer darts be obtained for this? If so, what dosage would it take for a 200 pound man? Asking for a friend.

I won a trophy with one of these one time. Still have it in the gun room. Managed to stick a dart straight through a cows tail as she switched it across her hip to get a fly. Antibiotic squirted every where and boy did she leave the country. Had to get her in the chute to remove the darned thing. That Christmas my buddy rancher had me a Cow trophy made with a dart in her tail. He still teases me about from time to time. I just tell him, "You try hitting a switching tail from 30 yards from a moving pickup!!"

There, an endorsement as to this guns successful use. Well, almost!

I’ve used the pistol version several times. It takes awhile to prep and set up the dart, but they are quite accurate and work as advertised.

It’s WAY faster than having to get the cow in a squeeze chute.
