On June 5, the Canadian men’s national soccer team will play its first match on Canadian soil since qualifying for the 2022 World Cup. The team is set to host #21-ranked Iran in an international friendly at BC Place.
Although it’s already proving to be a hot ticket, some, including the prime minister, believe organizers should have chosen a different opponent.
“This was a choice by Sport Canada, by Soccer Canada,” said Justin Trudeau Tuesday during a media scrum. “It wasn’t a very good idea to invite the Iranian soccer team here to Canada.” https://bc.ctvnews.ca/should-upcoming-soccer-friendly-between-canada-and-iran-be-cancelled-1.5908102

It's easy to cancel, and should be.

Sports Canada changes its mind. Due to the political situation, the match is cancelled. They are a sports body. Ethics in Sports would be how I'd handle this. Edited to add: Canadian Centre for Ethics in Sport (CCES): The Government of Canada is a strong partner in support of the CCES as an independent not for profit organization dedicated to protecting the integrity of sport from the negative forces of doping and other unethical threats; and advocating for sport that is fair, safe and open to everyone. https://www.canada.ca/en/canadian-heritage/services/ethics-sport.html

Football is played with a ball using primarily the foot. Makes sense.
American football is played mostly by holding a ball in your hands and running with it. It is also commonly thrown, and rarest is played with the foot. Running hand carry but sometimes thrown ball is probably a better name for it.
