A few years ago I was given a Colt Frontier Scout that has an issue with the base pin lock mechanism. The previous owner had messed it up and replaced the mechanism with a single screw that was put in from the right side (with the muzzle pointing away from you). The screw seems to match threads in the frame and it does do its job of holding the base pin in place. However, I am not very familiar with this particular type of revolver and I would appreciate any advice you guys may have for getting it fixed. Thanks much!

Thanks. I take it they don't sell parts. I got this when I clicked on the base pin:

G24 BASE 4 PIN CFL TO MEDIUM E26 SOCKET ADAPTER INDUSTRIAL GRADE G24 BASE 4 PIN CFL ADAPTER

You might try Numrich for parts. I just provided that to show that unlike its larger siblings, it uses a screw rather than push button release.

Mine was made in 1967.

Mine was purchased new by my father around 1957, and the set-up is the same.

Thanks. I did not know that!
