You weren’t scammed “here”. You gave out your email to anyone in the entire world to contact you. When scammers saw that, they knew they had you.

I’ll say it again. NEVER NEVER EVER POST YOUR PHONE NUMBER OR EMAIL IN AN AD.

Oddly enough, I've been posting mine for years and have (knock on wood) yet to be scammed on a deal. Granted, my online business IQ is slightly above room temp, so that seems to help.

I have yet to see any of these "WTB" scammers even pass the smell test on the first email, much less several emails to the point where I send these people money. Every single one has been extremely obvious, and how people continue falling for these in beyond me.

All,
I made the post to alert and warn everyone. I was complacent and trusting. I got burned.
From the emails, I assumed the one scammer worked at the hotel. There was no room number. I called the hotel and the deny all knowledge of the scammer.

I deserve the t-shirt for sure, for being too trusting….

Anyway, be careful out there.

100% preventable and self inflicted in this case. My 90 year old grandma would've sniffed it out in about two seconds.

It is a good reminder though. Do the complete opposite of what this guy did and chances are you'll be good.

Doubt I would be posting this guys info. He may not be the actual scammer.

Had somebody trying to scam me on a pistol, the supposed scammer wasn't even aware of the situation here, they were routing money through his accounts somehow claiming to be somebody needing $$ or some schitt.

+1 Hank.
It's easy to see what went wrong after the fact. I, too, appreciate the OP's post. He is trying to help the rest of us, not make himself look bad.

Good chance you are correct. It may give the op some info to contact or prevent further victims. It’s public info so no issues. If anything maybe the op reaches out and let’s him know someone is using his info to give him a warning.

I’d wonder if the seller at the hotel was an employee there. He’d just grab the envelope when it came through.

Nope. Many times I've received emails and texts that all started with. "This is so and so from 24hrcf"

Just wondering if the OP got their usernames.

I was scammed and am just trying to warn you all should you see what I saw.

I hate you were scammed and I appreciate your willingness to show others what can happen. You showed your own vulnerability and that takes courage. Best of luck going forward.
