For work a few times a year, mostly when meeting with international suppliers/customers - our corporate offices have become a lot more casual over the past several years, can even wear jeans if no meetings with execs, etc. And a suit sans tie is very appropriate these days in all but the most important settings.

Used to everyday but I haven't had one on in many years. Probably 6 years.

A necktie is good for getting your ass handed to you in a fight. TRUTH..back in the day when I even thought I'd scuffle, I wore a clip on...bad guy grabs it expecting to start the ass whooping...SURPRISE!  Now, I havent owned a tie in 30 years, and never will again.

In the oilfield they were known as suckass ropes. Never heard that in my 30 years.

Don't know how something as useful as a scarf for keeping one's neck warm or the sun off it evolved into a friggen silly ornament with no purpose. I guess it could come in handy to tie someone up for a few seconds if necessary.

I haven't worn one in years. Doubt I could find one around here. I have no plans to ever wear one.
