They save lives, Sam. The incidence of melanoma skyrocketed after everyone started with the baseball cap crap. Glad to see you wearing it. I’m pretty sure Tractor Supply has that exact same hat (Hecho en Mexico and not China) for $12.99. On their website it’s called the Milano Straw Bucket Lifeguard HatI’ve been all about serious straw hats for more’n thirty years, had a bunch. These are among the cheapest I’ve found and also among the best, the chin cord adjusts easily to keep em on in strong winds and they hold up under constant use as good as any straw I’ve had. Last year they were only $10. I have three, one at home, one in my vehicle, and one at work. As for other pics, somewhere I have a photo of me with a javelina (Tks Roger) and me with a whitewing dove, both taken with a flintlock smoothbore. Best I got.

kaywoodie; Good Monday morning my cyber friend in the south, I hope the weekend was a decent one for you and you're all well as can be. As EdM mentioned, I don't take a bunch of photos of me somehow, but this one was a couple weeks prior to our eldest's wedding and we'd decided to throw a rifle in the truck, take a drive and talk about life as we understood it. We'd driven that road for her entire life and half of mine and never seen a buck there, but there it was that day and so it came home with us. The rifle is a between the wars commercial roll marked Mauser - no waffenamts on it - with it's 3rd barrel which is now a 6.5x55, in a Wildcat Composites stock and a bunch of other money pit sort of parts. While the Mauser is absolutely the rifle I hunt most with anymore, this has somehow been my "lucky rifle", a Liberty Model 77 rebarreled to .308 Norma, on it's 3rd stock which I cobbled together from a Richards sorta semi-inletted blank. It seems to be there when stuff gets shot for reasons I cannot logically explain. Our non-LEH moose have to have no more than 2 points on one side. Personal best whitetail. Thanks for the thread, thanks to all who've joined in and all the best to you all this week. Dwayne

Flamingo, Everglades National Park. Was actually hunting redfish up on the flats on a flood tide when this joker showed up. St Pete Beach snook from many moons ago.

Why pick one when you've got a pair. Pre 64 transitionals in 375 HH and 300 HH. The 375 is off to the left against a rock Steve: What's the story on the cougar? Opening day of deer season East of Chemult. Hunted out of camp. It had snowed the night before and it was really good still hunting conditions. Had my wife with me. Heard her (the lion) scream in front of me. Thought, "Who would be calling cougars on opening morning?" Snapped out of it and whispered to Lisa, "That's a cougar. I have a tag." She says, "Shoot it." She would have been a board member of PETA if she hadn't been with me for these many year, so something of an inflection point was made. Looked through the scope more and saw her laying down staring at me. Unknown was she was behind a log that looked like her body. Shot where I thought her shoulder was intending a broadside hit. Ended up going through her shoulder and came out the opposite hip. Went slowly after her having Lisa stay close but behind me. Jumped her again. Called my buddy on the radio to join me as she had moved into some thick stuff. He forced me to wait a half an hour (I was pretty anxious to get on her again). Ended up finding her dead. 140 lbs.

Georgia WT I shot while hunting with a good bud, and Fire member Godogs57. A Scott Weichel build in 7WSM. This rifle was my constant road companion that year taking a goat in Wyoming, another WT in PA with Kingston, and then back to the coastal range in Oregon for a decent Blacktail buck. 🦫
