Thin bagel, peanut butter, honey and bacon is a dense snack I like to bring along on quick 1-2 day trips also. If you toast the bagel a little bit they stay for a while.

Zone Perfect Dark Chocolate Almond bars, I can practically live on them indefinitely. Add a generous sized bag of fried bacon and I'm set.

I prefer my bacon sautéed in garlic butter sauce but to each his own.

I like the way Rx bars taste, but they're like glue, they stick to my teeth which is a big negative for me.

I agree but my teeth aren't removable...😅

They do get sticky but get washed off naturally in just a few minutes for me with a bit of water.

I like all the flavors of RX...

Yeah I know, I'm working on it. You need to stock up on MRE's, TP. and extra socks in your truck so that you're not always having to eat those durn candy bars.

The old school PowerBar are a no. I ate a bunch of those 20+ years ago when I was endurance racing and I just can't. To me, Rx bars have a similar consistency and I'm out on those too.

I've had 2-3 probars, they seem great. Bobos are good. I like something that is a bit more crumbly I guess. I had a great one during turkey season. Its escaping me now. I'll post later. I've got a few sitting in my Rubbermaid.

Kate's real food. Dark chocolate, cherry almond is great.

Only 130 cals, so not a meal replacement.

I’ve read this whole thread and not one mention of peanut butter and honey. That’s my go to, wrapped in a tortilla. After reading this thread I may take some dry fruit and nuts spread it on the tortilla with everything else and roll it up

When I get lazy with making my bars, I'll use the no-bake Kodiak Protein ball mix that Costco carries. Three batches/bags per box and usually around $8. Just add honey, peanut butter, and some water.

Thanks for the thoughts on bars Pete!

your very welcome Greg W. > REMEMBER ANYONE CAN BE A GUIDE , BUT THE POSITIVE THINKING GUIDE MAKES MORE MONEY.

Funny oh mention that Pete, and it deserves it’s own thread, as a couple longtime “wrestled, football school” Pards “guided”. Most recent went into the bob, never rode a horse before, setup camp, came back in October and November and “guided” folks to the tune of $6000 a pop. Pretty funny shiit actually . I get hit up yearly by a local outfitter that I’ve never hunted with to “guide”. I just laugh, my killin time is too important try to show folks blacktails and Roosevelt’s. I’ll start a thread should be interesting. 👍👊🏻

I will have to try a few of these bars mentioned.
I do the PB&J with tortilla thing, but it can “leak” in the baggy and get nasty. Not a big deal but kind of annoying.

I am not much of a food guy…I just grab whatever is handy and am not concerned with taste or nutrition but probably should start paying more attention to that.
