Most, if not all, of these pics were taken with my Sony RX10 Mark 4 camera. I had been hearing a Sooty Grouse this winter/spring in the mountains west of Roseburg but had never seen one until I saw a female in the road on the way out of the mountains. I stopped and got a photo of her but also then heard a male hooting up the hill. My favorite bird is next, the American Dipper. Not the prettiest bird but they sure have character! Notice the bit of white in its eye which is an extra eye lid for when they are under water after bugs.
