If there were any legitimate three barrel sets a member here on the Forum would own one or at the very least would have seen a three barrel set with documentation/iron clad provenance.

Any possibility of a three barrel set showing up in the Factory Ledgers at Cody?

Possibly. If a 3 barrel set actually exists. If a fellow with money ordered a set that was physically possible Savage may have built it. ??
I think it was Loggah who mentioned having a rifle that factory letters as a 2 barrel rifle set (not cased 300/410). Although only possessing 1 of the barrels currently.
I have a vague recollection of seeing what appeared to be a "high end" 3 barrel set on one of the gun sites in recent years. Don't recall details other than thinking it was a special order.

Would the same extractor work on a rimmed 303 and a rimless 300 ? Would the bolt face be different?
