We had a dinette set like that only the table was gray, and the seat pads were red.

Outhouse with catalog as a kid. Moved into town when I was 7.

I've used the bath washtub for baths as recently as a few years ago- 5? at the Cosna cabin. That was an upgrade from the river, believe me!

We always made the kids quit playing in the river and shreaking at a certain hue of blue.

Then we got decadent and bought one of those solar-heat shower bags, tho we heat the water on the stove. The shower is 3 trees in a triangle a few feet out the cabin door, a piece of plywood for the base, a tarp stapled up to the trees for walls. Planks run from the door to the shower. Skeeters aren't much bother. Usually.

The outhouse is similarily constructed of spruce poles for frame, but with a roof. On arrival I put a tarp up around the frame, mostly to confine the smoke from the PIC skeeter repellant. We do use real TP, tho.

I went this route after losing a couple better constructed outhouses to flooding. This one has lasted almost 20 years. 2nd tarp, I think. Taken down and stored when we leave.

Necessity is a mother.....or something like that.

Half way through the night when it was cold in the bedroom I would get up and lay like that on the floor, if you were first you got the living room with carpet, otherwise if already taken the hallway on the linoleum.

We weren't poor but lived like it, I thought we were.

you want cold to take a dump , try -30 celcius with a another 10 deg wind chill out on a pipe line, you don't waste any time.

Rule #1

If you are in the outhouse leave the door open, so some else doesn't make the trip in the cold.

TP goes in a Folgers can to stop the mice from chewing it.
