Coke stopped being special once they took the Coca out of the syrup. Fact.
Grandpa on mom’s side was pharmacist and used to have cases of the [bleep] in brown bottles with his RX on it. Best cough medicine for kids ever. lol.

My other Coke memory - in high school (private, male
Parochial, no fun) our cafeteria had an old school coin operated machine that dispensed the crushed ice into a waxed cup, then mixed the syrup and soda water directly into the dispensed cup and ice. That machine was legendary. It rarely ran ‘perfectly’ and sometimes ran lean or ran rich on the syrup to soda ration. But holeeee fugg, when it was hot, and you were stoned to the bejesus, and had that dry dry cotton mouth, and that machine was pouring out the Rich mix! ….

Stuff is awesome with some Blanton’s in a glass full of ice.  That was my first thought, tastes great with a little something added in.

Yeah, peanuts. We would take a 7 ounce coke and dump a pag of planters peanuts in it.
Great salty, sweet, coke taste.
