In Michigan 16 is the age of consent for a male or female. The same age that a youth can be legally tried as an adult I believe.

Back when I was in school, late 70's, girls dating older guys was a common thing. Girls [young women] mature faster/sooner than guys, it's always been that way and always will be. These days people want to treat junior/senior school age people like babies, it's no wonder so many act like babies these days. I have family who treat their 25 year old offspring like babies.
