What they are doing is reporting a "record high" for specific dates. Like, today or yesterday. Not a true climatological record high.

supposedly about the 3-4th hottest summer on record so far behind 1980 and 2011. Very dry with only a trace of rain at DFW in 30+ days (second to 2011). Lots of wildfires which i don't remember from 2011. it only has broken a record high for THAT day once or twice this summer. It was around 109 daily for about 4 days straight which with our humidity feels like an oven. August is normally when summer really sucks.

Based on what?

Not saying you are wrong, but what is your basis for the above conclusion?

Recorded data of high/low temperatures.

Please share that data showing us where there have been no record high temperatures in TX since 2003. Unless the below post explains the difference

lol, my main ac unit has been out since last nov. haven't fixed it yet, do have ac in the bedrooms but just open the windows in the rest of the house. not paying a 600-800 electric bill either. can't get anyone to just replace the compressor, they want to replace the whole unit. when I get time in the fall I'll replace it myself.

No. It's easy to find.

Pats right sensationalism on the snowflakes part....just a hot dry summer. Praying for rain though as we lost a half section of good grass to a wildfire set off by a hot bearing on a neighbors swather. Tough times but its been worse in the past for sure. Didn't lose any cattle or equipment. We just have to wade through the melted snowflake puddles....

The record high for Denver is 105° (2005,).

Probably a record high for the date, not all time.
The fact they don’t state that clearly shows their penchant for deception.

Remember, these are the same folks who run around with their cameras looking for puddles to stand in every time it rains.

No AC at all in my house. Holding steady at 95 🙂

We’ve only had a few days over a 100 in Houston area this year as I recall. This year feels cooler than most to me, but I could be wrong.

Do believe I could make time for a compressor swap if I have to live through summer in Texas without my main A/C unit.

Was messing around in Nam during the first tour and about 11 in the AM left the tent at our staging point, and the heat was nasty. Walk out to the chopper and the OAT said a tick over 47*....Celsius. In Cracker speak that's 117*. It was fair late in the day before our Hueys could lift a full load of grunts to fly home.

I am..........disturbed.
