Probably total frustration because It's about the umteenth time he has walked all over and spent hours looking for his idiot dog that escapes at every chance it gets.
Then he gets visits from the cops and threatened with citations about his dog
We have one like that, he wasn't beat but decided to stay home after living awhile on a short chain a few times, he was about one escape from going down the road and not coming back.
