Clean, safe, friendly.

I was expecting a moonscape like I recall around Green River

Couldn’t have been more wrong. IIRC this is Cottonwood Canyon, maybe 25 miles from Salt Lake City. There’s a friggin’ MOOSE just out of sight in the photo, Google says hunters harvest about 7,000 annually in Utah.

Surrounded by public lands, abundant off-road areas, fishing and hunting.

Birdwatcher gives it two thumbs up, and then some 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

the last picture is only about a mile or so from where I am going to be moving to next year.

You must not have been through there recently. I-15 through SLC to Provo is six lanes in each direction.

The SLC corridor is a nightmare. They have ruined the valley in which I live and it’s only getting worse. They are building thousands of homes and keep complaining about having no water.

When I moved here the valley air was clean and bright blue sky. Now the inversion from the SLC valley is creeping in. Oh and the traffic sucks!!!

We also have Mitt Romney so please stay away.

It’s good you stayed away from 300 W where all the homeless encampments are because the worthless hide of a SLC mayor wants to be seen as compassionate. I have lived the majority of my life in this state but we’re going to head back north to SE Idaho. Too many Californians have moved here and are spoiling what Utah was/is.

SE Idaho is filling up with Californians also. Boise gets a lot of press about Californians moving there but the Idaho Falls/Pocatello and outlying areas are getting a lot of them too. We are getting a noticable amount of them in central Idaho - they are like fleas they are infesting the whole state.

Yeah, with the advent of the internet, nowhere is secret anymore it seems. Magic Valley is definitely out! Wifey is from Pokey and younger son is living there. We've definitely noticds what you mention, but it's nowhere near as bad as UT. Maybe Soda Springs or Montpelier. Was up on a job at one of the Phosphate mines last Feb. It got down to -37F that'll keep those S. Californian out of there!

It has been 3 years since I was through but I have to through it again in about 2 weeks and I am already dreading it. Unless things have changed they will have multiple lanes shut down for construction but at least it should be a bit of an improvement.

Yes, 6 lanes each way and wall-to-wall crazies, bumper to bumper 85-90 mph. I think Utah people are all convinced they are going to heaven as they drive with no fear of death.

I grew up in SLC I lived on the West side and went to West High school after I graduated I rented a place on the East Bench.
I left in my early to mid 20s
It is a Gorgeous State you have everything from Deserts to dense Forests

It was a great place to grow up and a great place to be from.
I have visited family there a couple of times since I moved out many years ago.

Utah is a GREAT place but the PEOPLE SUCK they are some of the most judgemental people that I have ever been around.
Even my family it is all Judge Judge Judge what a messed up way to live.

I purchased property in Arizona instead of Utah an it upset my mom to no end.

I could not bring my self to move back to a place that will not let you live and let live.

If and when i go back to visit it will be just that visit.

The Utah people do not have to worry about me ever moving back to that Screwed up State
They cured me of that many times.

The Wild Life is Spectacular Mountains and Deserts all wonderful places to go camping , Fishing and Hunting.

Why do the people have to be so screwed up in a State that has so much to offer.

It took a complicit Demonrat governor, but Cali has had a negative
influence clean over here in Pa. Rendel linked us into some consortium
affiliated/controlled by CARB. Now, the more populated counties have
to have there cars emissions tested annually. And we haven't been
able to buy a decent gas can in forever.

We don't get Californians, we get Baltimorons, and the Northern VA/DC/MD
Ăssholes.

Same old story as everywhere.
Leave the city, build up our rural area, outside the locals on land and rural homes. Chop up the farms. Sit around and tell you how great it is here.

Had one of the better ones freely admit the issue, and take blame for it.
Along with express regret that it's happening.

Don't blame him. A good dude with the money to buy what I would
have. It's just how things are.

Parents who say they have good kids..Usually don't!
