This was his first commercial release. First time I heard it on the radio back in 98 or so I was hooked. I don’t think he’s ever recorded or wrote a bad song. Finally got the chance to see him a week or so back. Got kinda hammered and jumped on stage after they were done and slightly forced my way into the room he and his band were chilling in before leaving. Said my piece, he was very gracious with this drunk hillbilly and i left em be. Then my buddy asked if I’d pitched my idea for a song, and I’d forgotten to. So I made my way to the alley behind the bar where they were loading the van getting ready to haul ass. Again, he was very patient and gracious. More than I’d have been honestly. He’s a good fûcking dude and I can’t say enough kind things about his music.
