Is currently available on the Hodgon website. Last I looked they had 1 and 8#. You can buy it directly from Hodgon when available.

Damnit! That would have been a nice pickup. I did scoop up a couple of cans of TAC this week at a local Cabela’s while there for some fishing gear so not bad.

If any place has components available and want to clear out their inventory in under 60 seconds, they have only to post what they have here on the 'fire.

Was in a hardware/gun store today. Had loads of powder, including the H4895 I’ve been looking for.

Really getting better, except for prices, of course.

Gee, what a surprise--and at close to pre-panic prices.

It's now been around 1-1/2 years since this latest buying panic began, and reloading components are starting to become more available. Have seen this happen several times since the late 1990s, when the first buying panic occurred due to the Clinton assault rifle ban. Generally 1-2 years after the panic-buying starts, stuff suddenly becomes more available--because those who panicked have enough stuff.

Wouldn't be surprised if more primers start showing up pretty soon as well, at closer to "normal" prices.

Mule Deer,
I certainly won’t challenge your wisdom! Can’t help but feel like the economy might have something to do with it too! I’m certainly noticing more buying hesitancy from clients at work.

I've noticed a difference in the price between IMR- and H- of the same number. Maybe the temp resistance?

Not sure I've seen both in stock at the same time, so maybe they don't update the IMR price until they have some in stock?

Some of the more popular powders that I’ve seen in stock a lot of recently have been Big Game, Hunter, CFE-223, HP-38, Lil Gun.

Its my understanding they're still differant manufactures, as is Accurate 4350, regardless of ownership of those facilities. They're not identical, nor directly interchangable and the topic has been addressed by well-informed persons elsewhere.

I was looking on the Hodgon website (parent company) and they show IMR 4350 @ $271 for 8#, vs H-4350 @$331 for 8# (both out of stock)

That seems like a big difference for similar burn rate single base extruded powder?

Maybe the H comes from Australia and the IMR comes from Canada? Or the temp insensitivty costs more?

Yep, add TAC, Varget, and some IMR's in here and that sounds about right. Along with some Acurate 2230, 1680 and 5744.

Last time I saw H4350 on the shelf locally was about 3 months ago.. Roughly $50/pound. It's a good sign to see it at online retailers because generally when that happens, my local small town gunshop usually gets some in..
