I purchased a 1972 FJ40 in 1975 with only a little over 20,000 miles on it for $2850.00, it was in like new condition. I sold it in 1984 for $750.00 in rusted, ragged out condition with the engine leaking oil and needing brakes cylinders/drums/shoes on all four corners.
