Had some good Mopars in the early years - 1950 Chrysler 2 dr. Coupe, 1955 Chrysler Windsor and later a "300", and our family/kid vehicle a 1967 Dodge Crew Cab one ton on which we put a big camper. All excellent engines. Standard trans were very good - can't say the same for the automatics.

1978 was about the end of my Mopar run - except the only brand new vehicle we bought during first sixty years of marriage - a 2001 Dodge 2500/Cummins - still our go to truck approaching 350k miles.

However, during their high school years in the 1980s as three of the girls were coming into driving, I fixed them up with a fancy old 1962 Lancer 4 door - slant six and three on the tree. Did they feel cool in that? Absolutely not!! But safe, and easy maintenance.

Never went into the "muscle" types - had gone to Chev and had the 1967 Corvette by then.
