Wasn't sure where to post this. Picked it up yesterday, I shoot mostly left handed, and it's a left hand bolt gun. It's in a European style stock, nicely checkered has good figure to the wood gun is blued was made in the Czech republic and it's in 223 caliber. Very good shape. Has stalking style iron sights and also the built-in scope mounts I'm going to need a set of rings for a 1-in scope for this rifle any help would be appreciated 1 in Weaver don't even come close. Also a value on what these are worth would be nice also pretty neat gun nothing I needed but I just kind of wanted it, after I saw it. 1st true lefty rifle iv ever bought.

Just about all on line suppliers carry rings for the CZ-527. The biggest issue is bolt handle clearance. I use Amazon for most of my ring purchases because most of them(marked "Prime") can be returned free of charge if they don't fit.

After the first shot the rest are just noise.

This might help with clearance, but no personal experience…

A quick search shows other options may be available.

On the home page, poke the price list button.

BOLT HANDLE (Modified LOW for CZ 527)

Example shown is a 4 1/2 X 14 Leupold with Calhoon "HUNKER Mounts" and modified low bolt handle. The third picture shows that the scope is only 1/8" above the barrel !

. . . . . . . . . . . .

Exchange plus ( send us yours, and we'll return you a sculptured CZ bolt handle. Postage included)
$58.

The fellow I got it from had a Leopold scope on it with a med. Set of rings. The scope wasn't on it, but he showed it to me, and offered to sell it, but it was a Dot ret. So I passed. I bought a set from eBay.

The newer versions of the 527 had a lower profile bolt handle. My earlier one does now too after a bit of judicious grinding. A little duck duck go will help give you an idea of the profile. I used a 4.5” grinder and a flap wheel. 15 minute job tops then touch it up with a little cold blue.

CZ produced two 527 models only for lefties. The American and the Lux. It appears you have the Lux , it has more pronounced drop at the heel of the stock. It has open sights, because it’s designed for both. If the rifle is made to fit. You have to find a scope with a low bore axis and as close to the open sights as possible or you’ll have no cheek weld with a scope.
I would pick a 1” diameter scope and smaller objective. Something in the line of a Leupold 2-7x32. I mostly use Talley bases and rings. Different scope mount manufacturers have different height mounts small , medium, tall or extra high are not standard across the industry, but close. You just have to barely clear the barrel is good enough as long as the scope can be set fore and aft for the proper eye relief. All dependent on your length of pull. If you are never going to use the open sights, you can have them removed or leave them but will not be functional. If you go that route, you can look into a stock bender to lift the heel and add a cast on while at it. You’ll get a much better fit. Otherwise, get an American stock and sell the one that’s on it. All dependant on your priorities and willingness to spend money.
527’s prior to Corona and while still being produced, new were $575-650 on average. Now, it is $750-900 for a clean used rifle and fair price. Some have sold in the $1,200-1,500 on Gunbroker. It’s been a frenzy. In fact there is one listed for $2,000. Whether it sells is another issue. Feel free to pm if you like. Best of luck with your project.

Does it look something like this?

It could have 1-9 or 1-12 twist depending on when it was made.

I would appreciate your consideration. I have a couple of 527 American's but don't have a Lux model.

I just picked up my first cz 527 yesterday. It’s a 223 and I hope I enjoy it as much as I’m anticipating. I have 5-6 /
223’s and had the cz on my wishlist for some time.

I like them a lot. I have several 527's in different calibers.

I prefer flush fitting magazines, but the 527 was a neat little rifle. I've had a couple of them over the years.

I have a 527 in .223, their M1 variant, which I believe is no longer in production. It has a synthetic stock, and flush-fit magazine. Very accurate.

I also picked up a 527 in 223 a while back. I've got 2 loads so far. Both are right at 3/4". A BD load with 55gr SP and LT-30 pushing 60gr VMAX. The 527 is definitely a sweet handling rifle. Mine is a rh American. Enjoy

I had the 527 in 222 Remington. Lightweight and still accurate. I had a 6x42 Redfield mounted. I always used neck sizer dies.
