Before I was born dad got his hands on a Marlin varmint king, Marlin used Sako L46 actions for that rifle. The micro groove barrel burned out when I was a teenager and a Douglas air gauge barrel was put on. If I had $1 for every woodchuck that rifle took I'd have retired years ago. It still wears the Weaver K8 it came with and I still load 19.5gr 4198 with a 52gr Sierra HPBT. Twist on the Douglas is 1:14, same as the original.

Well, I picked up the Sako .222 yesterday. I believe it to be unfired, we'll fix that, and is prettier than I expected. I some some brass and I'll round it up. I hope to Coyote hysunt in the next few weeks. I just cancelled 12 days on the Florida east coast, and the last 10 days of October shooting the Sporting Clays Nationals in San Antonio. I'll have a little time to spend with it. I think It's getting a gloss Leupold 2x7 that has been waiting for such an occasion. I'll try to remember to update and the shooting part.

I love Sako’s, never had a short action, but they are beautiful.
