Update: Believe it or not the rifle had a 308 magazine box in it. According to the GS: The 308 mag box feed rails sized for 308 were not able to grip the slightly thinner 257 RBTS case therefore dumping the rounds from the mag box. I guess this was an oversight on the assembly at USRAC ??!?!?!? š¬ 257 magazine box was ordered and installed. Rifle now feeds flawlessly. Redneck & Everyone: I appreciate all the feedback and comments from you all. Pic attached of rifle.

You must have a very long neck though..
I try to stick with the basics, they do so well. Nothing fancy mind you, just plain jane will get it done with style. You want to see an animal drop right now? Shoot him in the ear hole. BSA MAGA

In any case, glad it now works like it should.. And, FWIW, that is a gorgeous rifle! (drool)..

How that 308 box got in is the mystery that probably wonāt ever end. Bought the rifle from a fellow who received the new rifle in the early 80ās as a birthday gift as a youngster and was basically a safe queen ever since. Oh well I am just very happy all is good. Thanks for all the responses. I plan on āinitiatingā it this deer season on a GA Buck.

Beautiful XTR. Great rifles too. I have a 6.5x55 and a 7 mauser. Both were safe queens bought off GB. Lost out on a 257 bob a few months back. Grrrr..
