Buying the stores out of bottled water? What?. No clean garbage cans and tap water?
Beforehand.
Hell, clean and fill the bathtub, or all those empty wine bottles out back.... The two motorhomes I rolled outta here hold 50gal of fresh water each, I ain't buying no water..everybody else is. Bottled water is probably getting as rare as gasoline about right now. Did encounter one slight surprise today. I made a dump run, so'd half the damn County, trucks backed up a 1/2 mile out the gate. Hadn't anticipated that, everyone is tightening up and cleaning up.

Looks like the worst of it is going to pass right over north central Florida, i.e., me. Hopefully they are wrong about that.

Bottled water is probably getting as rare as gasoline about right now. That's crazy. I took 5 gallon buckets and caught water when hurricane Harvey hit. Didn't take long, and had caught enough rain water to last weeks. Enough water to drink and take a daily shower. That cool shower was the highlight of my day too, with all the electricity out for over a week. It was great!

Well, I can just not let them out the morning of. They have a pretty solid hen house. The roof could be lifted off, though. That's the thing to worry about.

All Citrus County Government buildings including schools will be closed Wednesday and Thursday, animal hospital just emailed me to say they just locked the door until further notice.
Suppose it's to allow staff time to get their personal schit together.

I got four five gallon water jugs I will fill up before the storm. If it seems like it will effect us. I been here since 1986 and I never lost water during any storm. Power yes, city water no. But I will still fill the jugs.
Life can be rough on us dreamers.

I talked to a buddy in marathon key today and asked him how prep was going. He said he's just drinking beer and eating fish out of the freezer. My kinda prep.

Jeff Do you put tie downs on the metal and fiberglass sails in the yard?

Hopefully you won't be in that eyewall area. Even as a "small" hurricane its gonna be a real PITA if it goes a predicted. Infrastructure and trees tend to get weak when they haven't been tested in a while and it's been over 100 years since the Tampa area has had a good one.

It will be a BEAST for Tampa. Massive storm surge. Power outages to beat the band and massive flooding.

Yeah, Tampa is where it’s supposed to turn east and make landfall. Then up through north central Florida. I hope the Tampa landfall breaks it up a bit. Best wishes to the folks there, though.

The very first time I ever had to deal with flooding or any other significant damage from a tropical storm or hurricane, that would be the end of that. Insurance adjuster: " Mr. Smith, where would you like your house rebuilt now that the storm has passed?" Mr. Smith: "I think right here where it got knocked to schitt by mother nature sounds ideal"....

I’m hoping no bad injuries or deaths! Go stand in a Wal-Mart for 20 minutes. You might change your mind.
