Have an Interarms Whitworth .458 coming. What's a good red dot set up for a big-bore? Has anyone figured out how to make one cowitness with iron sights on a bolt-action rifle?

Been looking for one for a Win M-70 404 J. I’m thinking about a Holosun 512 but haven’t seen it in person yet. Longer (3”+) and heavier (8+ oz) but it seems to be rugged based on reviews, especially the one with the titanium hood. The enclosed emitter is a big factor for an African DGR optic so I’m not leaning toward the open emitter pistol optics.

I had a Leupold Delta Point on a Ruger RSM 450 Rigby but didn’t like the sight picture and battery replacement process. Sold it fairly quickly so can’t attest to the durability with repeated heavy recoil. This one was rated up to 300 Win Mag but could find no info on a large caliber DGR.
