Couple weeks ago, a girl on a trail in Siera Madra, CA a few miles from here. Caught on hiking trail between the rock and a hard place and nowhere to go. While a large bear lazily walks by. So calmly she just stays where she is and films it as it walks by.

Some years ago an eastern friend was coming to hunt deer. I wanted to take him to a place I'd heard about but hadn't been to so I took an overnight scouting trip. I took 2 llamas for the fun of it. It had snowed maybe 1/2" that morning. Mid afternoon, I dropped into a bowl where I'd planned to camp but the place was lousy with wolf tracks in the new snow. They had to have been there since mid-morning as that's when the snow stopped. I kept going for another 1/2 mile and found a different camp spot. That night I kept the llamas close to the tent. I never saw or heard any wolves but they weren't far away.
