My friends in the Glades are A-OK, Naples and Fort Myers are screwed.
Friends on Siesta Key have a solid 12ft of surge water, their in there attic taking refuge.
Coastal Ft Myers is under water. If Siesta Key has 12’ of surge god help the Charlotte Harbor area !

A friend of mine is sitting out the storm in the Rotunda west development. Still has cell service because I texted him 5 minutes ago and he replied. Sitting in the eye right now,

That’s about the projected surge for that area. I hope the house holds together and they survive ! My policy is to leave for all hurricanes after a cat 1 spawned a tornado that threw a 2’ diameter pine tree through my house. Large branch came through the roof and missed me by about a foot and a half. Pack documents and portable valuables into the truck and leave a couple days before. Watch it on the news from a safe and comfortable hotel room. Pay the deductible and move on.

Everything south of the eye is what's seeng the bigger surge waters.

Looks like the eye is heading for Daytona Beach, then out into the Atlantic, then possibly up north to impact either Georgia or South Carolina.

That's what prompted him and his son to stay this time. Art is generally portable. Make a plan beforehand how to pack it up and get it into the car. I can pack up and leave in less than a half hour. Of course I was born with nothing and still have most of it left.
