Yeah, a rotary or forestry mulcher makes a lot more sense for what you're trying to do.

If you have a tractor already I would consider something PTO operated. With 90 acres I think you could keep it busy. I have a Woodmaxx 9900 and run off a 40 HP tractor and have been very happy. Flail mower might be another implement to consider for maintenance.
The mulcher is a good option as well. More money.

I have a chipper picked it up at a garage sale 15 years ago at a great price....it has sat for the past 5 years or more at least just don't use it and it sets....next spring its going up for sale takes up to much room stored inside....
When I did use it any branch less than 2" was burned in the wood stove smaller was chipped and put in the garden....just don't collect or get the wood I use to.....

I agree, i wouldnt try to do what he is talking about with a chipper.

pay somebody to clean it up once with a mulch head, you can hit with a mower after that.

I bought a 3in chipper for around the yard, if you go that route, definitely by something twice the size for what you are planning to chip/shred. My 3in barely did 2in stuff well, and it was insanely loud.
