The last thing China (and Iran) want is uncensored internet available to their people. China is probably in a position to do something about it if ol’ Elon puts his satellites up over them anyway. Getting the gear needed on the ground might be tough in either place. Then again, I have a $200 satellite “leash” I carry when I hunt so the authorities will know where to find the body. I can send and receive texts. No doubt some clever chinaman could cobble something up to use Musk’s service.
Might be a good way to test their anti-sat tech🤔 Starlink sats run in low Earth orbits. They are not geosynchronous. Which means, they pass over China already. The sats are there, any subscriptions is just money in his pocket. This is my understanding of it plus what Dutch said about Starlink modems already being there in China.

You can badmouth "boomers" all you like, stickfight, but it wasn't our generation that freaked out over pancake syrup and butter labels. Boomers aren't confused about gender or pronouns, and although we were wrongly condemned for being baby killers, it is your generation actually killing millions of them. Yes it was. It was all those old hippies, the same ones who called you a baby killer. This nonsense started with them. They seeded the universities and the media, bringing socialism to the masses. The cemented the notion of abortion being a noble and liberating act. They cast generations of minorities in programs of endless entitlements, while gutting American communities of production capacity in favor of globalism's short term profits. Those old hippies were trained by Russian Commies hand picked and sent here to do just that, starting almost 100 years ago. Bolsheviik agents were selected from Stalin's best and brightest to infiltrate education, communication, and law at the highest University level. Very, very few of us were even alive when this program was initiated. It just started to bear fruit in the '60s.

But the Old Guard is dead. What should be the Old Stabilizing Force is... Boomers. I'd guess Dutch is right too. I'd bet they are making them there! And that Musk might be willing to provide free service to the Chinese. Why not? Probably little cost to use the existing infrastructure. If thing don't go his way, he could stop.(things always seem to go his way) And if he assists a successful revolution in Iran or China, he would have the undieing loyalty of a lot of customers.

Musk isn't going to rock the Chinky boat: China is his largest market for Tesla, and the Tesla Shanghai factory is his largest producer, expected to produce over 100,000 cars a month by the end of the year. The Chinese could cripple Tesla with the stroke of a pen. Now, there IS a component of Mutually Assured Destruction there, that IF the Chinese play cute and try something like nationalizing Tesla, all Elon has to do is turn on any modem in China land, and their much vaunted "Great Firewall" is useless as tits on a boar hog. Not seeing either scenario come to pass, but we do live in interesting times.

Roll out the IUD's for the "un-confused"..... throw in some Covid vaccines and shut down the local skating rink for those who don't freak out over syrup, butter or rice while your at it.
