Because they had to.

If it weren't for hipsters, your ghey IPA would still be the rotten [bleep] coming from India.

IPA didn't come from India.

From cheap to expensive (not in order) and none of it light.

I'd walk by, grab the can and take a sip. No problem. Mom fussed once, but that was the only time.
At the time, I was just being a kid and thought I was being "cute". On the back of my mind, I couldn't figure out why anybody would drink something that tasted like that on purpose! Yeeech!
Even in highschool, when we'd get the older guys around town to buy us a 6 pack, I'd drink it, but I didn't "like" it.
Make no mistake, when I got married and quit drinking beer, the Schlitz brewery in Longview, TX had to sell out to Stroh's! 😜
Even then, even eating BBQ and drinking a beer just didn't appeal to me. I've seen my dad eat a candy bar and drink beer! 😖
I would drink a beer on occasion, but it was rare.
Since retirement, beer became a bit more palatable and would drink one more occasionally.
THEN....the wife and me decided on BBQ for our "payday treat"!
Maw had her drivers license, so I got a beer! 😃 Just ONE!
Later, I walked out to the mailbox, about 60 yards from the house. I noticed my right ankle was quite painful.
By the time I hobbled back to the house, I'm in pretty severe pain and can barely walk. 🤯
At bedtime, I'm in such severe pain, I can't get comfortable and sleep was NOT going to happen.
Three hours later at the ER, it was diagnosed as "gout", brought on by rich (high in protein!) foods!
Well, I've had BBQ since with no problems.
Beer? It was nice, but I CAN do without it!
So, beer?
Thank you, no.
🥴🥴🥴

Yep.

It's just too bad that most of the stuff you "fans" like is garbage.

Yep.

Remember thirty years ago when Bass Ale was the real thing, brewed in Burton-upon-Trent?

First time I drank beer I was probably 11(?). 6th grade, stole it from my buddy’s dads kegerator. We filled up an empty plastic milk jug and hid out in his back yard drinking it. I thought it tasted like cornflakes in sour milk.

I drink old fashioned Canadian Labatt's Blue 8.1% Beer. If I get Covid and the flavor changes, I am switching to Jack Daniel's Tennessee Whisky or Jim Beam Bourbon and I will not give a rat's arse what my wife thinks hahaha

Cheers ~

PBR is the shizz, ice cold.

Perfect chaser for a shot of tequila.

Gonna get some stocked for November 1st.

Drink a toast to all you fellow abstainers.

Salud!
