I mainly fly fish the salt water flats of fl. for reds, trout and snook. I also tie salt water fly's. Just got through tying a seaducer, I'm going to try on reds if the wind ever lets up.

I fish flys. We've got all sorts of trout fly fishing here in Kalifornia. Some lake fishing, but most of it's stream fishing. For a real thrill, try an 8 lb. Steelhead on a fly. Man, what a fight. E

Hoyt, do you get any tarpon on the flats? It's been one of my dreams to flyfish for tarpon and bonefish.I have a cousin living in FL.and she keeps asking me to come down and see her,I would if I didn't take a S@#T kicking on the exchange rate for the canuck dollar.Last year I started flyfishing for northern pike and what a kick that is.My first one was a 17 lb.that fell for a deerhair mouse jerked over the edge of a weedbed,I thought it was going to tear the rod out of my hand at the hook set. Can't wait for the ice to go out on the lake so's I can get back at it.
mike.

Hiya guys,
I just signed up here and boy am I excited to find a board with a decent number of fly fishermen. I've only been fly fishing for a short while now, though I've fished all of my life. Don't have to much to say right now, I really just wanted to introduce myself.
Later,
Mark

My dad lived in the Eagle River area when he was younger, on Lake Nokomis. I rarely get that far east anymore, spending most of my time on the East Fork of the Chippewa River, in the Bear Lake area, about 16 miles west of Butternut, WI. I don't think the fishing is as good here, but traffic is nearly non-existent. Very quiet. One could pee out of one's boat without getting arrested, if one was so inclined. Hey Flyfisherman!

I am also an avid flyfisherman. I am an Alaskan and I am into both the salt and freshwater flyfishing. I am going to be steelhead guiding around Paradise AK this spring. I am really into flyfishing for kings out deep in the salt using downriggers. I also tie flies and build rods.

I sometimes fish with flies, but wouldn't call myself a fly fisherman since I catch mostly bank, brush, and my hat. The most fun I've ever had with a fly was a few years back on the lower Clarks Fork of the Yellowstone, north of Cody, up in the mouth of the canyon--the greyling were taking anything small and black--almost a fish every cast! I got hooked on fly fishing when I lived in Alaska many moons ago. I fished mainly for arctic grayling then. Now, living in KS, I love fly fishing for blue gill and black perch. I can hardly wait for spring.

The SE might not be the flyfishing capital of the US, but we try and we enjoy it. I started flyfishing about 35 years ago out west. I've gone back and forth to it over the years.

I catch a few Trout during the winter in some of the colder streams in the area. It may not be, Salmon or Steelhead, but a big slab bluegill on a flyrod, would make you think it was.

Southwest Wyoming here and YES, love the Green river, flaming Gorge, Smiths Fork, Snake, Hams Fork, not as much dry fly though. I love streamers, bumpin the bottom with scuds, larvae patterns. Gonna try for mackinaw next week, though its a little soon Probably freeze my A-- off but the cabin fever is worse

I fly fish and wish I did it more. I hardly ever pick up spinning gear anymore. I have wrapped my own rods and I tie my own flies as well. I love it. My favorite place is the west branch of the Au Sable River near Lake Placid, NY in the Adirondacks. Almost every kind of water you could imagine is on that stream; but I just love the pocket water and the smell of cedars and balsalm in the clean Adirondack air.
