5 years ago before a bear ripped our wall tent to shreds. We lost that hunting lease that we camped on the following years so I never replaced it.

The wife and I were in a hike-in “primitive” area when I was still active duty. We went for a walk to some waterfalls with a bottle of wine. When we got back some azzhole pitched his tent 4’ from ours. My wife kept me from killing him because my whole body and mind told me to. I didn’t sleep at all and had my P226 laying on my chest. July, outside of Chesapeake Va, attending a nephew’s wedding. Three nights at $25/night w/showers available sure beat the heck out of staying in a motel.

Many years ago. Not since college and up at Pictured Rocks. I tent camped in HS on my grandparents land while they were in Florida a few times and we had a riot. Winter camping and shooting a few squirrels and a raccoon with 22’s and single shot shotguns to cook over an open fire to subsidize the trail mix that we brought with us. I like squirrel but that greasy half cooked raccoon was something awful.
