Lots of actresses played roles in Westerns but I doubt one in a hundred would actually be comfortable in a "western" kind of lifestyle.

Open Range was given points for not hiring the bimbo of the month for the leading lady. Annett Benning.
I don't know if she's been in other westerns, but IMO, she did a fine job in that movie.
Kate Capshaw in the original Quick & the Dead still makes my putter flutter.
