Yes sir - it truly is. And that eagle was not pretty. Kind of a scruffy looking head and tail. I figure it just achieved adulthood.
I was hoping to see the coloration. We’ve had some showing up here . That prompted me to research them. Isn’t it about 4 years old before they fully show their colors? I saw a mottled one last week and figure it’s a juvenile .

I love bald eagle videos. One day I’ll see one with my naked eye, hopingly.

That's okay...I don't know either but I'll bet a lot of folks have wished for thousands of years that cotton seeds would just fall out like that. wink

You could see it but only good at about 50 yards. It flew right over about 30 feet up but I didn't see it till it was 50 yards out.

5th year for white. As they make the change - the white looks kind of crappy.

I saw one in full color. It was awesome and I’ll never forget it. It just sat on a fence post about 125 yards from the house for 30 minutes . The cows were in the area and just seemed to gather around it. The eagle jumped from post to post if the cows got too close. Neither was overly alarmed by the other. It was really cool.

Negro slaves couldn't make those seeds break free. They invented a machine for it and they still white - lol.

We have a bunch that winter on the coast you can see well in the dead of winter. This one was 125 miles inland on a pretty good sized lake.

When I lived in Kenai back in '92, I would see bald eagles almost every day. Surprised you haven't had the pleasure.
