Most of them didn't wear black and white, either. They liked color and they wore the brightest clothing they could with the dyes available back then. They didn't have buckles on their shoes or hats as buckles cost money and were a waste. The black and white with buckles was the fashion of the wealthy for a while in England in the late 17th century and artists painted the pilgrims that way. These pics from a reenactment are more accurate. That was the English style for commoners at that time.

If in fact it was the Indians supplying the food...wouldn't it be curry or tandoori?
Well this is a fine pickle we're in, should'a listened to Joe McCarthy and George Orwell I guess.

Native Americans considered Wild Turkey a sacred bird and harbinger of good fortune. Who cares what they thought? Lincoln made Thanksgiving into the holiday it is, not the natives.

I don’t know about the eastern tribes but from everything I’ve read about the plains Indians they didn’t eat birds except in emergencies and certainly didn’t expend the time and resources to gather a few pounds of bird. It would take more than a few big birds to feed a hungry tribe.

This reminds me of an old story about market hunting in the 1800's. An Indian was asked why he always had venison to sell but seldom turkey.
His response was "Deer see injun...think injun stump. Turkey see stump...think stump injun."

If you are not actively engaging EVERY enemy you encounter... you are allowing another to fight for you... and that is cowardice... plain and simple.

Native Americans considered Wild Turkey a sacred bird and harbinger of good fortune. Some still do but most can't afford it in the volumes they drink, so they go with R&R or some other cheap lighter fluidesque Canadian rotgut instead.

I’m calling BS…turkeys were plentiful and Benjamin Franklin wasn’t even born. Unless you’re referring to when it was declared a national holiday. The first thanksgiving was held in 1620 I believe.
