Did the model 88 also share the firing pin problem? Far as I've ever seen, the recall was only for Model 100s. But the new firing pins can be used in Model 88s that were produced after the creation of the 100s (my understanding is that Winchester altered the 88s a bit to allow for part interchange). That said, I'm guessing Redneck would now a lot more about it than me.

I had 2 earlier this year that needed the firing pin mod. Winchester is still supplying the parts. I made the change myself, there are a couple of videos on Utube that I watched before digging in. You have send in the old parts with the serial number and Winy will send the new parts. I had to contact them twice to get the $30 dollar check"s" (one for each gun) to cover the "gunsmithing charge".
I still have one in 308 it is a pre64.

Anyone ever run a suppressor on one. Simpson's had one with a brake on it that sat there for sale for months. But it had the open sights removed.

There's a 308 carbine at my local shop that caught my interest. Does anyone know why there's a triangular punched hole in the pistol grip cap? Maybe to identify units that had the recall performed? 🤔
Leave the gun, take the canolis.
