The NFA of 1934 and the GCA of 1968 are unconstitutional.
United States v. Miller, 307 U.S. 174 (1939) was a horrible decision that must be overturned.
If you are not actively engaging EVERY enemy you encounter... you are allowing another to fight for you... and that is cowardice... plain and simple.

That type stuff happened all the time back in the 60s -80s in my area. I knew officers that used the police force to buy personal guns, and it was OK as long as they didn't use city funds and paid for the gun themselves.. They weren't full auto for the most part, but I'm sure it happened. Gun sellers were more than happy to sell to police. That guy was just begging to get his a** in a sling with today's ATF. It happened in rural Grand County,CO. back in the 80's too! IIRC, the sheriff and some deputies and a brother of one of the deputies were doing a little back room automatic arms dealing!

Adair county has what ? 12,000 residents ? But, I can guarantee you 90% of that 12,000 like a little machine gun action every so often. But, the Chief is going to take a fall for this. The BATF has no sense of humor.

At one time (1970s) , if I wanted to get a gun cheaper than retail, I could get a friend LEO to order it for me through their department as long as I paid for it. This wasn't even a big deal. How things have changed. I wouldn't even ask one about it these screwed up days.

This crooked Boss Hogg had a nice little gig going until he got greedy with the m134. I wonder if that was the one that put him on the radar. Oh well. I'm just impressed that he could control all of those evil dangerous guns and kept them from killing masses of people. In this day of deadly rogue guns, that's a feat in itself! Bravo chap!!

Back in the 1990's a bunch of local yokel cops in our area bought select fire rifles for their patrol cars with their own funds. As long as the chief signed off on the purchase, no problem. I don't know how their status changed if they ever stopped being a full time LEO.
