I did manage to run one through a 4x4 whitetail buck. Not a whopper but he was handy as in 200 yards from the house. Thought I reported back here but I see I did not...
With the 7mm rem mag 150 gr. Core lokt tipped around 130-ish yards the Bullet just touched the buck in the rear edge of the left shoulder meat as the deer was quartered a little toward me. Expansion was obviously instant, only the hide had a 7mm hole in it, damage was not bad to the shoulder but the vitals were soup. The bullet made a very consistent sized elongated 1-1/4" straight hole all the way through the deer exiting in the rear portion of the opposite side ribs.
The buck did some funky front end dance at the shot, spun around and made it 40 yards or so with a blood trail to follow in the snow and fell over.

Word on the street is they are hornady sst with a green tip... Some sure do look like SST but some seem to have flat base vs boat tail. Hmm? The SST shoots sub moa out of hand loads in my 270 and 06. Personally, I just don’t care for corelokts. Old or new. Give me some federal blue box or fusions. Or even Winchester extreme points is better shooter for a fraction more.

All of them do something better than the 30-06, but none of them do everything as well.

I was always very pleased with the old corelokt bullets. The old core lokts have been really reliable and accurate for me in handloads. My friend has been shooting 130 grain core lokts for over 20 years in his pre 64 270. He has killed dozens of elk and deer with that bullet. He just killed a big cow elk about a month ago at 400 yds. Through both lungs, she trotted a little bit, and then fell over dead. Pretty low drama. I did get him to put a SS 3x9 on the rifle, and he loves it. Pretty much just uses the hash marks for holdover.
