Shield plus with a dot on it. Which dot you using? I've been carrying a optics ready with night sights Shield plus for the last 6 months or so IWB. My only RDS experience is a Trijicon RMR on a 5in S&W CORE range toy.

In the time it would take to get a winter parka unzipped and sweater lifted up to get to a belt holster I'd be dead. So a 642 in the handwarmer pocket with a couple speed strips in the opposite pocket is my cold weather choice. Actually for someone who tries his best to avoid gun fights the 642 is a pretty good choice year round.
Leave the gun, take the canolis.

Most often a Glock 26 with a 12 round mag and a 15 round spare. Otherwise a G-19 or G-43 depending on attire.
I do have a G43 MOS-HS507k-Surfire light combo I am putting together. I still need a good holster though.

The same "too heavy", "antiquated", "low capacity", "sure-to-get-me-killed" 1911 .45 that I always carry.
Well, except when I sometimes carry an even more "antiquated", "low capacity", "sure-to-get-me-killed" .38 Combat Masterpiece....

I usually carry either a Glock 27 or a Ruger LCP if it's a bit warmer, but this weekend I went for an ill-fated snowmobile ride and figured I'd take the Glock 22 with a few spare mags, just in case. Just in case happened, as I got myself buried in a drift about 15 miles into the Custer Gallatin Forest and had to ditch the sled to try to walk out. I was sure glad I had that full size .40 with extra ammo, as I almost had to spend the night in the woods without anything other than a snowmobile suit. I ended up walking a few miles and got a signal to call 911 and the Forest Service came out to get me, right before sundown. First thing they asked is whether I was armed and I told them I was and if they needed to see the firearm I'd show it to them. The one guy said "no need, just don't take it out without letting us know first and you'd have been an idiot if you came out here without a gun." They were very cool, helped me get my sled unstuck and then we rode down the mountain in total darkness, which was actually more fun than I'd have ever imagined. You need a Garmin In reach.
Life is good live it while you can.

what holster do you like best.....bob I am a rare bread that prefers a Mexican carry over a holster for 1911's and a 39 smith. Then again, I am a scrawny SOB.
I am always looking for factory wood stocks!
