Ever tried using their customer service?I have a pack with the zippers that were built wrong, "Sorry, we can't fix or warranty that." I wouldn't buy their stuff if it were half off.

I have a closet full of KUIU, won't wear anything else. After years of heavy wool and cotton, wearing clothes that stretch and are light weight is a vast improvement. I bought pants from their new Proximity line, wore them opening day in KS, tore them in a nasty briar patch dragging a deer out. Called KUIU, they replaced them even though it was no fault of theirs at all, no defect in material or workmanship, I simply tore them.

After a recent acquisition and use last weekend I'm a fan of their Attack pants. Almost everywhere I hunt is a mountainside. I'm in decent shape, but I'm a world class sweater..seems like the better my conditioning, the quicker I start and the more I sweat. The hip vents really helped.

I have one, my favorite jacket and I wear it all the time not hunting. It has held up extremely well.

I like their stuff and am one of the few that likes their packs. I would be mad as well if I bought one and the zipper was crap. I had a Kifaru with a bad zipper and they fixed it. If you need something I would say get it now on sale.

Before I bought any KUIU items I asked them where their stuff is made. They said 10% was made in China at the time, but they were hoping to leave China all together soon. This was 3 years ago. They also said to ask them on an item was made before ordering and they would let me know. So far nothing I have bought from them is made in China. First Lite on the other hand would not respond to my ask and all but one item (not many) from them is made in China. I switch completely to KUIU, but would also like to try FORLOH.

Many Florida hog hunts deep into the swamps lots of 'devils walking cane' thorn bushes. They get some picks in them but are hard to tear. They dry very fast also.
Mostly open hard woods here in arkansas, easy terrain.
They do seem to soak up water and dry slower when they've been worn a lot. I think the threads/material ? fluff out a bit and cause that.
Bought 3 more pairs, 2 in green, 1 in light cream beige one size up from my size, I'll use them in the winter for snow camo.

Where is KUIU Made 2023
October 27, 2022 / Outdoor
While hunting, you have to face challenging situations. To face these challenging situations, KUIU aims to provide the most comfortable and stylish hunting apparel.

KUIU hunting gear has been tested around the world in all types of terrain and weather conditions. As a fit, comfortable, and sustained hunting gear, you may wish to know, “Where is KUIU made?”

Sources
Where is KUIU manufactured in 2023:
All KUIU products are made in China. In 2012, KUIU transferred its manufacturing facilities from Canada to China. Though KUIU is an American brand, all of its hunting apparel is manufactured in China today.

In 2011, Jason Hairston founded KUIU finding the necessity of comfortable hunting gear for hunters. Initially, he began making hunting apparel in Canada.

KUIU began mass production in 2017 when the San Francisco-based Main Post Partners invested $50 million.

Today, the KUIU manufacturer makes all KUIU hunting gear in China.

Well, I was mistaken. I just went and started looking through my stuff, some bought as recently as a few weeks ago and some several years old, and 3 out of the 17 Kuiu articles I checked said China on the tag. My apologies. The vast majority was made in Vietnam, with the odd Cambodia, Columbia, Sri Lanka, and even USA thrown in there. The most recent stuff was all made in Vietnam.

What's your thoughts on the Kutana?

Holds up better than the Chugach set in the alders/brush. On my third year on my set without issue. The Chugach was lighter and didn’t hold up near as well….I have 4-5 holes in my set from basic rut hikes.

I have one of their Guide jackets. The only thing I don't like is the arms are tight. I don't consider myself to have "pythons" for arms, but the jacket is a little tight from the bicep through the forearms. Anyone else experience this with their jackets?

They definitely have an "Athletic" fit. For jackets it is wise to up size.

That's exactly why I thought the arms would be a little more spacious in the bicep/forearm area. I bought XL. I usually am right between L and XL, mainly because I have broad shoulders.

I have a couple pair of the Zions and recently adopted some Kuiu attack pants. I’d say comfort is about a wash. The attack pants are a lot warmer than the Pranas IMO. I kinda prefer the Pranas with the built in “belt” over having to wear a belt with the Kuiu. I have noticed the Pranas pick up a bunch more cockaburs, etc than the Kuiu.

better hope its the right size. because if you buy it on sale and need to exchange it they are only going to give you a refund. If you still want the item you're going to have to pay the difference in sale and non sale price to get the different size. my kids bought me a guide jacket. I had to pay $70 extra to get one size larger. bought my son a coat for christmas. again another $50 to get the correct size exchange. I think its a bunch of crap that a company that has no retail presense to charge extra for an exchange.

Yes we all know to order the correct size (reference their sizing guide) and to keep a receipt.

They offered you a refund, you declined.

I'm late replying but I haven't tried Prana Zion's.

I've used Pnuma Tenacity a lot. They've been very tough and I like them but they are a very different fit than the Attack pants. The Pnuma is much looser, a tad bit thinner, and has much bigger pockets.

Lots of good options out there...just costly to try and find what fits the activity, a person's body, and a person's preference.

what if the item is a gift? do you know the phu cking sizing chart and how it applies to your 11 year old? you don't think its odd to go to exchange the item and you aren't allowed to exchange it for the correct size without paying the difference between the sales price and non sales price? even if the item is brand new with tags on it. how many stores if you buy and new coat, you go and take it back after purchase brand new with tags will NOT let you exchange it for another size without any charge regardless of what you paid for it? what retail stores have that policy?

to a more broader point. and this is a problem with society and in particular this forum. notice how many people will defend their purchase no matter what. its like because you chose the company you have to defend BS practices. Why can't you just say yeah paying $50 extra to exchange your kids jacket is pretty much BS. why can't you just admit that? you're too busy defending your purchase even though its crap. This is something you and others need to realize about yourselves. probably the same kind of people who refuse to admit they were duped during covid.

I'm not defending them. I stated facts. The customer is not always right. They tried by offering you a refund, yet you still complain.

I own four items from kuiu, I'm not a fan boy, but I'm also a realist

I am more than willing to call a spade a spade. I'm sorry you didn't get your way.

My guide jacket made in Vietnam. I'm a fk'n tightass to a fault. But for the price I paid I'd do it again USA or not. Just being honest.

Wasn’t Kuiu supposed to be the righteously made in USA hunting apparel company to fill the void left when Sitka went offshore?

Sizes run small for me so, I order up one size. Base Camp is nice. Got a outfitter jacket which is ok. I might purchase the Kenai Jacket.
