I left a dove hunt in the middle of the night several years ago because I was miserable and couldn't sleep. A friend had invited me and it was all set up by some uncles of his...and it was a schitt deal. Everything about it sucked.
So, I threw my stuff in the truck and began the 175 mile drive home along US 380, relieved to just be on the way out of there. Along the way between Haskell and Throckmorton I became very drowsy and decided to look for a place to pull off the road and catch a nap. I found a turn down a dirt road and went about 200 yards off the highway. There was plenty of brush to conceal the truck from passing traffic. I turned around toward the highway before shutting it down and then I drifted off to sleep and dreamed.
I mutsa been awful tired because that's when I have the strangest dreams. I dreamed that I woke up right there and a truck carrying a bunch of cars had backed in on that dirt road and parked on a one-lane bridge over a river in front of me. To think I had awakened to find myself blocked in and stranded there was pretty damned disconcerting. When I really did wake up it felt pretty weird. There was no river and there was no bridge...nor was there a semi truck parked in front of me.
I've slept in the driver's seat quite a few times on long trips and that's the most remarkable thing that ever happened.

Yes. On long trips and my wife is driving too. She's a pretty good driver.
Many drivers I don't trust enough to fall asleep while they drive.

Oh the stories I have driving and/or being the passenger in a vehicle at night/early morning. Good times.
Have you guys ever stopped for hitchhikers that weren’t there?😉

Many times when I was younger and far more wild. Drunker than Cooter Brown and knew it. Locked my truck keys in the top storage of my dog box so that the cops couldn't say I had access to them.
Those days have long since passed. Still drink, but I don't get in that condition unless we're having a party.
Just because you're offended doesn't mean your right.

Slept in my 85 toyota 4x4 straight cab after packing out elk quarters until dark, resumed packing early the next morning 'till noon or so. Spent another night sleeping in that same truck cab a couple years later after shooting a bull moose at dusk. It's a beetch sleeping bolt upright in that tiny cab.

It’s just one of the reasons I’ve always drove a truck. Wherever I go there I am, at “home” and comfortable.
