A few years back a friend of my dad's tracked me down and gave me an old Penn 209 reel and rod. My dad had given them to him as a gift for being his best man in 1959. He had never used it and wanted to get it back to someone in the family before he passed. Unfortunately the rod was starting to delaminate but the reel is like new. I put it on rod this winter and hope to put it to good use this summer. Dave

I restored my wife' maternal grandfather's old 1954 South Bend Oreno #5 rod & reel combo. So cool and seriously "old school"!
