I always thought it was the 280 Ackley, but it got Saami'd. What's number 2?

Will Munny: It's a hell of a thing, killing a man. Take away all he's got and all he's ever gonna have.
The Schofield Kid: Yeah, well, I guess they had it coming.
Will Munny: We all got it coming, kid.

I would agree with the above or 257ai Robert’s. 17 Mach IV was popular before the fireball

I would list some of the 22’s. 22gt and 22 creedmoor. You might not see as many of them but I bet the ones you do see get used pretty often. I have to think the 22 creedmoor would already be saami’d had it not been for covid and the election. Just a guess though.

Most people think accuracy makes for a splendid rifle so I’d say look at a PRC round if you want the higher probability of success on the accuracy tangent.
They are now SAAMI but if you hurry I’m sure you can find one they haven’t standardized yet.

I don't know what the most popular is, but if it's not the 22 Creedmoor, it closing in fast on whatever is in the top spot.

Would be interesting to see numbers from the reloading die manufacturers-- probably the only objective method. I'd guess 22 K-Hornet based on zero data.

Would think the TCUs would be high up there with the number of T/C barrels they churned out, JDJs to a lesser degree.

My small town has one gunsmith that’s built a lot of rifles for not only us, for others around the country. Not to make it sound like he’s big time, he is a small independent type that does maybe two dozen builds a year. I ask him this very question. It’s between the 338-06 AI and the 250 Savage AI. A few 223 AI too.

If you meant what you said you would not have mentioned him. I can’t imagine a stranger on the internet bothering me so much. You might consider getting a emotional support animal or something

Would be interesting to see numbers from the reloading die manufacturers I don't know about dies, but Robert Hayden (Starline Brass) told me a couple of years ago that they had made over 10 million pieces of 458 SOCOM brass. There's also load data listed for it in the Nosler, Lyman, Hodgdon, Lee, and Western Powders reloading manuals. Tony
