The ranch calves went out a month or better back at 635. Not knowing when you calved I’ll up mine to 740.

How about you? The ranch tries to get the heffers taken care of by the end of April, the cows as you say can string out to June.

If you work 40 hrs/wk: at 5% inflation and after 5 years, you need a 28% pay raise or to work 44 more hours (*one full extra week* per month+) to make up the difference.

We are northeast MT. South of you, Powder River country. Used to know a good ol guy up your way, Bill Rathert. Shot a lot of coyotes up there on the hi line many years ago. All the way west of of Havre.

I've known the Rathert family since I was a kid.
They are good friends with my folks.
We were short on grass and sold Bill a bunch of our bred 3 year old cows about this time a year ago.
He's having some tough health issues now but still checks in with my dad a couple times a week.

I'd guess 750 if you pulled the 10 lightest out.
I'd pour 'em a 770 and give the bigger ones a little more.

Good grass this year there? Powder river country had crazy rain, far above normal. Great grass, tons of alfalfa.
