the sr 4.5 or whatever it's called from nightforce might be a solid option if the weight requirement is that important.

that said i'd lighten the stock, trim the action, or reprofile the barrel before moving "below" an swfa 3-9


you only need about 2moa 10 shot to accomplish most hunting tasks, but the vast majority of scopes that sit below that threshold just don't stand up to sustained field use.. will it crap on you next hunt? probably not with ginger fingers.

but a fall off the truck bed and you lose zero on a big buck. you won't be able to miss fast enough.

The Weaver Grand Slam 2-8x36 are nice scopes, tipping the scale at about 15-1/2 ounces. Very nice glass, good tracking. I happen to have two of them I may put on the market soon.
