Agree with 2-4, not necessarily in that order, film or book. His best stories. The film version of The Shining was a steaming pile of schit. IIRC, it inspired King to not option any more film rights unless he wrote the screenplay.

I mean, really? The Hand of God?

Gee, he didn't pull that out of his ass . . .

Same with It. A giant spider?

Somewhere around Delores Clayborne, he finally learned how to end a story.

Crap, forgot the Green Mile. Another favorite. Shawshank was great, too, but didn't know it was a Stephen King novel.

It wasn't. It was one of the novellas from Different Seasons, originally titled, The Body.

I can see arguing over John Grisham, but not Stefan King. IT is a masterpiece

They all suck, as do his books.

Wrong. “Stand By Me” was based on the Novella “The Body”.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Body_(King_novella)

“ The Body is a novella by American writer Stephen King. The Body was published in King's 1982 collection Different Seasons and later adapted into the 1986 film Stand by Me.[1]”

For me, Salem’s Lot.
