Really looking forward to this year.

Starting off with opening week bowhunt in Illinois. Come home to bowhunt Alabama for a bit and then head to North Texas for Thanksgiving week. Will leave there to head up to SE Kansas for first rifle the first of December , and then finish January out back home in Alabama.

Muledeer hunting in Colorado with the .308 followed by whitetail and hog hunting from stands In Oklahoma and Texas with the 6.5CM and .30-30. Will have the .41 Mag revolver along for the whitetail hunts in case their is an opportunity inside 50 yards.

Probably concentrate more on land improvements than killing.

The kill would be a bonus.

Hopefully in the next few years I can bring may patch of brush around to be more deer and more importantly turkey friendly.

Next season, like most years, I'll be hunting on my own land. I have a few other options, mostly very local to me. One place I go is a huge (by New England standards) hayfield a few miles away. My friend hunts there and he's older, and not in the best of health, so if he gets one I need to be there to help get it out. I usually hunt there when he's hunting so who ever gets one has the other person to lend a hand. Another place I hope to hunt is a nearby 7,000 acre working forest preserve that contains some spectacular wild country. They have a lottery and let a few lucky hunters in every season--each person gets a 600 acre area to themselves. I also have contacts in the Adirondacks near Ticonderoga, NY, but it seems odd to go all the way up there where the deer are scarce, when I have so many options at home where there are lots of deer. Beautiful country in the Adirondacks, though.
