Got to see a lot of games with Stockton and Malone, those two were always entertaining to watch.

If you ask the other 4 on the list, they would say Bird.

They don't.

If they didn't see them play, it didn't happen.

I saw a comment regarding Wilt Chamberlain, stating something to the effect he had a "Nowitzki like fadaway".

Huh?

It seems that most of the guys are voting for the best five they have seen during their lifetime. I think Chamberlain was the best ever, even though his free throws were awful. Not many players have had rule changes just because of himself. Chamberlain had several. I remember one game where he was being fouled and it wasn't called because he was so strong he scored anyway. He got mad and got a steal and headed down court like a guard. He did a dunk with two opponents hanging on.

Nobody has mentioned Jerry West. Isn't he the guy on the NBA logo?

Jordan
Bird
Wilt
Lebron

After that there are arguments for a schitload of players. But I think those four have to be in there no matter what.

I’m not a big Lebron fan but you really have to give the guy credit for his longevity.

Please see the Marine Hawk dude's post.

Then reassess your choices.

My "team" would make the Stilt, Wilt.

Have them each play a period man on man against Wilt and it would likely be a really fun watch.

No love for the tattooed alien dude?

You know, Rodman.

If I'm putting together a team, he might just be on it.

Wilt, MJ and Bill Russell are sure “top fivers”. Bird and Lebron probably make the list. Kareem and Jerry West are legit candidates. Magic could have done even more if it were necessary. A healthier Bill Walton would have been right there. Tim Duncan was quietly brilliant. OK, I give up.

And for the record, Rodman would have helped any team be better.

Bird and Jordan but I don't know a lot about B-ball. Bird just sermed to be good at it all, especially Trash talking.

Agree about Rodman, going to be hard pressed to out rebound that guy. Totally dominant on the boards.
