Totally get reconnecting with your youth with the simple way of doing things back in the day. Good on ya!
Was this spot in LA or up in TN, if its not too much to ask? Nice country regardless.
Just last Friday I went bass fishing in fresh water, and using an old Ambassadeur I got in about 1972 and a plastic worm from the same era, I caught my first ever largemouth over 10 lbs. The thing was a toad, and it took more than 50 years to finally catch one that big. Looking back over the past few days I re-lived the long years and umpteen trips flaying the water in search of the wily bass: landed a bunch of them, no doubt, But this one was special - a fish of a lifetime. And to catch it on the old 5500c was icing on the cake, tying together today with the youthful years.

The motor boat traffic all goes down bayou. I pedal up toward the headwaters. 10 pounds is HUGE. Congrats. Those old Ambassadeurs were great reels. The first bass I ever caught was on a Mann's Strawberry worm back in the mid 70's. I'd love to smell one today. I bet it would transport me.

Well hell, I just realized that I put this in optics. Maybe I need some optics to help me read better.

So I've got to go to another forum to scope the fish out? I saw them, looked like a lot of fun.

[url=https:/ In all seriousness there is something fun about a worm on a hook and sitting in a simple boat just waiting for that bobber to go under. Definitely brings back nostalgia.
