That's how I do it too! I shoot until it's dead. Of course, for me, that's one shot! I've never used 165's in a 30 mag, but have used them in the 30/40 Krag and 308. The 165 Sierra hollow point features a crappy BC but is a very effective game bullet, inside of 200 yards, when started at 2650 or so. I shot a bear at 30 yards, with the 30/40, and this bullet. The bear was falling before the recoil took him out to the field of view. Field of view was substantial with the 2 1/2 power scope. I load 165 Noslers in my .30 Epps. They start out at about 2850. Haven't shot anything but deer with them, but I expect they'll do just fine on whatever. GD

Scoped and loaded it was pretty light and had the thin red recoil pad. Effective it was but I sure shot it as little as possible. Would not build one or buy another.
