Or, buy a 190 grain bullet mold and be emancipated from being a slave to the whims of the jacketed bullet manufacturers. Equal velocity (in .303 Savage), equal (or better) accuracy, and equally deadly on game. 'Tain't rocket science.

Actually, I'm not even sure I'd really seen a 303 Savage until after I'd bought my first 99 in 300 and got the bug. In my younger years I always passed them over on the used racks because they were fugly. I still do, but it's a fugly that has grown on me... the prettiest ugly rifle ever designed 😉

It’s been a good while back that I bought 40 pieces of Norma brass from Graffs. Loaded a couple 5 shot groups, then they started selling ammo, so I still haven’t loaded the other 30 pieces.
Plus the ten boxes of 190 ST’s I got from Roy. Might be six of those left?

I'm not greedy, I just want one of each.

I have a few boxes of WW 190 grain Silvertip factory loads left. Have very effectively killed deer and caribou with it.

I've been asking for a .310 190gr SPRN from everyone. Other than Contract Custom I've found nothing that isn't cost prohibitive to me. Begs the question, "why .310" bullets?" Because that was what the Savage was designed for. .308 bore, w/ .310 "tight" fitting bullets. If you mic. early ammo you will verify for your self. Or read West's book. Increased pressure, increased performance Ammo makers got sick of carrying spl. pills for Savage and either dropped them or loaded with .308 pills, thus dropping ballistics to a 30-30 twin Also, rivalry between Companies was huge then. Savage never loaded their own ammo. If your competition can turn a profit making your ammo, plus kick you in the ballz by reducing its ballistics, red letter day for them. Yeah but they quit that nonsense pretty quickly. It wasn't because others were tired of carrying special "pills" (what, aspirins?) but rather the whole "increased pressure, increased performance" was superfluous hype. Shoot some, then we'll talk.
